Meet Your Team

The coaches at CrossFit 3000 come from diverse athletic backgrounds and experience, but they all have one thing in common, they care. Their passion and commitment to helping you achieve your personal fitness goals is what separates us from other gyms.

We know every member and their fitness goals, and strive to provide the training, education, support and motivation to meet these goals. As a coaching staff, we are committed to pursuing excellence and pushing you to thrive, not just survive. We are invested in taking care of you and take pride in helping you to enjoy life. We are in the business of getting you prepared for any obstacle or task life may throw at you.

Coach Brad

At CrossFit 3000, our goal is to improve your quality of life through providing a high quality training environment and superior coaching. To this end, Julia and I are determined to bring energy, enthusiasm and most importantly knowledge and experience to each and every session.

We are not here to brag about our fastest ‘Fran’ times or our 1RM Deadlifts, but we do want to help you achieve new fitness milestones and measurable improvements in your fitness.

I found CrossFit over 5 years ago, after years of playing water polo, rugby, running and over ten years of fitness training while in the military. I was hooked as soon as I experienced the results that CrossFit produced – and is still producing.

I have just turned 36, and I am now stronger, fitter and faster by any measure, than I have been in my entire life. No program or training regime that I had ever tried has come close to matching the results that I have achieved through CrossFit. And the best part is that I am still seeing improvements week in, week out.

Make no mistake, CrossFit is hard work mentally and physically – but its surprisingly fun and incredibly addictive. I love the energy and camaraderie of a CrossFit session.

I also love to coach and help people achieve their health and fitness goals. Nothing is more exciting for me than seeing someone’s effort rewarded with their first muscle-up, double under or with a new personal best.

In this way, our gym is different. Our success is your success. Come in and try a session with us and I guarantee it will change the way you think about fitness forever. If this sounds like something that you want to be a part of then take the first step and call us.

And just so that you know I am properly qualified and that I am committed to continuing my education and development, below are some of the courses and qualifications I have:

Coach Julia

What I love about CrossFit is that as long as you are prepared to put in 100% when it comes to intensity, you are always guaranteed a great workout regardless of your current fitness level and ability. As you complete each workout, it can challenge your belief around what is possible for you, and it can open up a whole range of new possibilities, not only in fitness but in life itself.

I love to assist people in exceeding their expectations of themselves and not only reaching, but surpassing their goals. I like to emphasize great technique, and that, combined with hard work, persistence and a positive attitude, leads clients to continually improve and get fitter, stronger and healthier.

Muscle up, wall ball, double under? What are these CrossFit people talking about? Surely they’re just grouping random words together. And what the hell is a ring dip? Some kind of post-workout snack? These were my thoughts pre-CrossFit, and you may be experiencing something similar. The good news is that the above movements are real, they’re fun, and they get you great results!

CrossFit will provide you with the variety and intensity you need to improve your all-round fitness, and with options to scale the workouts we make sure you are getting a great session no matter whether you are an elite athlete or just starting out.

As an Osteopathy student, I am passionate about getting people moving functionally and at their best. These are the very outcomes of CrossFit training. I love helping our members achieve their goals and I am proud to have been a part of many of their journeys to achieving things they never thought possible when they first walked through the CrossFit 3000 door. So if you are looking for something exciting and different to your regular testosterone laden gym, come and see us and we will get started on working towards something incredible!

Coach Steve

Steve Coaches Pic

Hi, I’m Steve and I began working in the fitness industry in 2010 as a personal trainer in the regular ‘globogym’ format…: this being a world of bicep curls, exercise machines and mirrored walls. Although I enjoyed the vibe and energy of gyms, I never really fitted in, and I had a vastly different view of what ‘fitness’ was. So, I started my own company, Barefoot Health, a purely outdoor personal training company which would focus on primal movements and natural nutrition.

It felt great working in the outdoors and teaching clients about functional movement and nutrition, however this life was put hold in 2012 when I was offered a position to setup a fitness program for Asylum Seekers on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea. I was reluctant to leave what I’d started, but I decided to jump into the deep end and head to the notorious Island. It was here that I saw people living in the most trying conditions, yet doing whatever they could to get through the day with a smile. Part of this was daily exercise, and I was truly touched by how these people would prioritise health and fitness, and used it to instil confidence and determination that would transfer to their daily lives.

Upon returning home, I found a very similar ethic in CrossFit, and finally found my place in the fitness industry where functional fitness and nutrition came first. More than this, CrossFit 3000 is a place that celebrates competition and community, whilst getting you really, really fit!

“Try CrossFit, you’ll love it!” They were the words from a friend who has been into CrossFit since 2007. I was too busy with work to think about my health and fitness.

Three years ago I watched him compete in the CrossFit Games Open and I was hooked before my first session. The rest is history.

The challenges, improvement and all round fitness has kept me enthused to the point of becoming a coach. I love helping people get better and stronger. It’s awesome to watch them achieve “firsts”. Whether it is linked double unders, strict pull-ups or a long term weightlifting goal/milestone.

CrossFit 3000 has a fantastic array of people. Helping them be better is fulfilling and enjoyable!

Coach Gab

I was first introduced to CrossFit back in 2013 by my then Personal Trainer, who wanted me to try a CrossFit ‘Open’ workout – a 10 minute AMRAP of shoulder to overhead, deadlifts and box jumps. This man must be crazy I thought to myself. But little did I know I was hooked as soon as I heard the call of 3, 2, 1… GO! And it’s safe to say I have not looked back since. I can say with confidence that since starting CrossFit I am fitter, stronger and leaner than ever before! Sure, there are some days when walking down stairs or washing my hair is an issue but I wouldn’t trade that feeling for anything.

What I love most about CrossFit is the constant variety of workouts – no two days of training will be the same which guarantees you’ll never fall into a boring gym routine. And most importantly, it’s all done in a super fun environment with an incredibly close-knit community.

As a coach and personal trainer, I thrive on helping people along their fitness journey and nothing makes me happier than seeing them achieve and surpass their goals, whether it’s getting their first double-under or rope climb, or squatting their bodyweight! And as I tell all my clients – if it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you!

Coach Chris

My first introduction to CrossFit was watching these mad people doing laps of the block outside my work window, I know right? Loonies. Turns out it takes one to know one.

It wasn’t long before jealousy took over and before I knew it I was walking down the ramp at CrossFit 3000 about to start something that has, and continues to (in an oh so humbling manner) change my life.

Movement has always been a strong driving force for me, and with a keen interest in gymnastics, kinematics and a past in dance (it’s ok, I lift now), I find the daily joys and challenges of CrossFit an amazing tool to get people moving the way we were designed to; varied, intensive and functionally.

CrossFit has given me so much, so I became a coach in an attempt to give some of that to you.

Coach Trent

“I’m not fit enough to do CrossFit”
“CrossFit is too intense”
“What if I’m not very good at it?”

These are some of the thoughts that came to mind before I drank the ‘CrossFit Kool-Aid’… Once I decided to take the first step, I was hooked from my very first session and I discovered the following:

“I’m not fit enough to do CrossFit” – Everyone has to start from somewhere! We’ve all been the new kid on the block and being someone that has never been athletically gifted, I was fairly apprehensive about giving CrossFit a go, but it all changed when I discovered the concept of ‘scalability’ …

What the hell is scalability?! I’m glad you asked.. If you were to ask a top level CrossFit athlete and beginner CrossFitter what they said to their coach after their first CrossFit workout, it would be something along the lines of “It was terrible! Same time tomorrow?”. Needless to say that this stuff is addictive and what I love about CrossFit is that members can ‘scale’ movements relative to their fitness level. This allows newer athletes to produce the same intensity and receive the same stimulus as someone that has been training for a number of years.
We are getting fitter and stronger together!

“CrossFit is too hard”. I’m not going to lie, this stuff is hard and the workouts will push you outside of your comfort zone and beyond like nothing else. If you haven’t stopped reading, you can take comfort in the fact that you will be surrounded by a group of people that know exactly how hard it is to give it everything they’ve got. If you consistently give 100% each and every time you step into the gym, combined with allowing your body enough rest to fully recover, I guarantee you will see significant positive results, both physically and mentally. “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” – Fred DeVito.

“What if I’m not very good at it?” – As a beginner starting out, the CrossFit terminology alone can be overwhelming, let alone having to perform the movements themselves. That’s why at CrossFit 3000 we have a comprehensive one-on-one Introduction Program that will familiarise you with the movements (as well as the jargon) before you join the group classes. Rest assured that after the Intro Program you’re not forgotten! At CrossFit 3000 we pride ourselves on delivering quality coaching to each and every member that comes through the door. We do this by prioritising sound technique and efficient movement patterns above all else. As a coach, I am passionate about assisting our members to achieve things that they never thought possible, plus having a whole lot of fun doing it.

Trent’s Certifications:

  • Bachelor of Commerce: Human Resource Management / Marketing / Business Law
  • CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
