At CrossFit 3000, our goal is to improve your quality of life through providing a high quality training environment and superior coaching. To this end, Julia and I are determined to bring energy, enthusiasm and most importantly knowledge and experience to each and every session.

We are not here to brag about our fastest ‘Fran’ times or our 1RM Deadlifts, but we do want to help you achieve new fitness milestones and measurable improvements in your fitness.

I found CrossFit over 5 years ago, after years of playing water polo, rugby, running and over ten years of fitness training while in the military. I was hooked as soon as I experienced the results that CrossFit produced – and is still producing.

I have just turned 36, and I am now stronger, fitter and faster by any measure, than I have been in my entire life. No program or training regime that I had ever tried has come close to matching the results that I have achieved through CrossFit. And the best part is that I am still seeing improvements week in, week out.

Make no mistake, CrossFit is hard work mentally and physically – but its surprisingly fun and incredibly addictive. I love the energy and camaraderie of a CrossFit session.

I also love to coach and help people achieve their health and fitness goals. Nothing is more exciting for me than seeing someone’s effort rewarded with their first muscle-up, double under or with a new personal best.

In this way, our gym is different. Our success is your success. Come in and try a session with us and I guarantee it will change the way you think about fitness forever. If this sounds like something that you want to be a part of then take the first step and call us.

And just so that you know I am properly qualified and that I am committed to continuing my education and development, below are some of the courses and qualifications I have:

What I love about CrossFit is that as long as you are prepared to put in 100% when it comes to intensity, you are always guaranteed a great workout regardless of your current fitness level and ability. As you complete each workout, it can challenge your belief around what is possible for you, and it can open up a whole range of new possibilities, not only in fitness but in life itself.

I love to assist people in exceeding their expectations of themselves and not only reaching, but surpassing their goals. I like to emphasize great technique, and that, combined with hard work, persistence and a positive attitude, leads clients to continually improve and get fitter, stronger and healthier.

Muscle up, wall ball, double under? What are these CrossFit people talking about? Surely they’re just grouping random words together. And what the hell is a ring dip? Some kind of post-workout snack? These were my thoughts pre-CrossFit, and you may be experiencing something similar. The good news is that the above movements are real, they’re fun, and they get you great results!

CrossFit will provide you with the variety and intensity you need to improve your all-round fitness, and with options to scale the workouts we make sure you are getting a great session no matter whether you are an elite athlete or just starting out.

As an Osteopathy student, I am passionate about getting people moving functionally and at their best. These are the very outcomes of CrossFit training. I love helping our members achieve their goals and I am proud to have been a part of many of their journeys to achieving things they never thought possible when they first walked through the CrossFit 3000 door. So if you are looking for something exciting and different to your regular testosterone laden gym, come and see us and we will get started on working towards something incredible!

Coach Andrew

Let me tell you a story; in this life, thus far, I have never ever been fitter, EVER. I’m 43. I never played sports when I was younger, never got to any competitive level in any kind of anything, except maybe being an 80’s music junkie.

This thing we do takes perseverance and determination, a willingness to go with the journey; relish the high’s, learn from the low’s. There are nights when I have to use the hand rail to get upstairs to bed, but that’s all part of the fun right?

CrossFit inspires me constantly, what people are capable of, how they have progressed and what they can achieve. If someone had told me 18 months’ ago I would do the Workout \’Murph\’ as prescribed, I would have laughed in their face.

With regards to coaching; I’m an introvert, for me it’s tough, my standard behaviour is to be at the back of the class. So to be front and centre is both terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time. I wanted to give something back, I see people in WOD’s doing things and I know they could do them better and make it easier on themselves if they did something slightly differently and I have also found that the joy you get from helping someone “get” a movement is indescribable, they look stoked and you are stoked because they are stoked. It’s win win people, win win.

Coach Steve

rings

Hi, I’m Steve and I began working in the fitness industry in 2010 as a personal trainer in the regular ‘globogym’ format…: this being a world of bicep curls, exercise machines and mirrored walls. Although I enjoyed the vibe and energy of gyms, I never really fitted in, and I had a vastly different view of what ‘fitness’ was. So, I started my own company, Barefoot Health, a purely outdoor personal training company which would focus on primal movements and natural nutrition.

It felt great working in the outdoors and teaching clients about functional movement and nutrition, however this life was put hold in 2012 when I was offered a position to setup a fitness program for Asylum Seekers on Manus Island, Papua New Guinea. I was reluctant to leave what I’d started, but I decided to jump into the deep end and head to the notorious Island. It was here that I saw people living in the most trying conditions, yet doing whatever they could to get through the day with a smile. Part of this was daily exercise, and I was truly touched by how these people would prioritise health and fitness, and used it to instil confidence and determination that would transfer to their daily lives.

Upon returning home, I found a very similar ethic in CrossFit, and finally found my place in the fitness industry where functional fitness and nutrition came first. More than this, CrossFit 3000 is a place that celebrates competition and community, whilst getting you really, really fit!

Steve’s Certifications

        • Bachelor of Health Sciences, Master of Chiropractic (current)
        • Practitioner course for Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (current)

Coach Jack

Hi Guys, my name is Jack. I started CrossFit in 2013 as a way to stay fit in the off-season for rugby union. I enjoy it so much I still haven’t gone back! I grew up in WA and QLD playing just about every sport under the sun. My early years of sport consisted mainly of Taekwondo and Basketball. As I got older, I started playing rugby union. Playing schoolboy rugby for QLD and captaining most First XV sides I played for, rugby taught me a lot about myself. Rugby and CrossFit are very similar. CrossFit can reveal a lot to me about someone. It reveals how sensible you are, how willing you are to take directions, how hard you want to push and how much you want change for yourself. At the end of the day, your training is what you make it. I started coaching as a way to be able to help pass on what I’d picked up to friends and other members. I can honestly say there is rarely a better feeling than being able to help someone who wants to improve their life or their health do that. There is never a ‘perfect’ time for change, you just have to want it badly enough.

Jack’s Certifications

        • Bachelor of Architecture (current)
        • Bachelor of Design (
        • Certificate IV in Applied Design and Technology
        • Level 1 CrossFit Trainer

“Try Crossfit, you\’ll love it!” They were the words from a friend who has been into CrossFit since 2007. I was too busy with work to think about my health and fitness.

Three years ago I watched him compete in the CrossFit Games Open and I was hooked before my first session. The rest is history.

The challenges, improvement and all round fitness has kept me enthused to the point of becoming a coach. I love helping people get better and stronger. It\’s awesome to watch them achieve “firsts”. Whether it is linked double unders, strict pull-ups or a long term weightlifting goal/milestone.

Crossfit 3000 has a fantastic array of people. Helping them be better is fulfilling and enjoyable!
